Common questions

Which rules does Beastform use?

Both. A druid can be created under the 2024 rules (5.5e), using the System Reference Document 5.2.1, or the 2014 rules (5e), using the System Reference Document 5.1. Use the switch at the top of the druid list to move between your 2024 and 2014 druids.

Can I move a druid to the other edition?

No. A druid’s edition is set when you create it, because hit points, Wild Shape uses and the available forms all work differently between the two. Create a new druid under the other edition instead.

Why can’t my druid take a certain form?

Forms are filtered by your level and Circle, including the limits on swimming and flying forms at lower levels. If you search for a form you can’t take yet, it appears under “Matches you can’t take yet” with the reason. The Compendium shows every form, whether your druid can take it or not.

Why isn’t a particular beast included?

Beastform includes the beasts published in the free System Reference Documents. Creatures that appear only in other books can’t be included.

How do I move my druids to a new iPhone or iPad?

Open Settings from the druid list, choose Backups, then Export All Druids and save the file somewhere you can reach from the new device, such as iCloud Drive. On the new device, choose Import Backup. Imported druids are added as copies, and existing druids are never overwritten.

Does Beastform need an internet connection?

No. Everything works offline, and nothing you enter leaves your device. See the privacy policy.
